ANCIENT WORDS
Because of my belief, I am a faithful student of the Holy Bible and am intrigued with the images that come to me when I read and study God’s ancient word. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to Israel,Greece and Italy, countries where you can breathe in the ancient words of the prophets, kings, patriarchs,disciples, apostles and most of all Jesus; words that have hung in the air for centuries and continue to this day.
The Ancient Words of the Bible tell a beautiful story. In the days of the early Christian Church, most people could not read, so the story of the Bible was told through images painted on the walls and
ceilings of the Churches and other meeting places of the faithful. In the countries where the faithful took the Word of God, these “Ancient Words” have been preserved for us to know the story yet today. The paintings I have created in this series are a small attempt to tell parts of the story symbolically rather than realistically from a visionary point of view. In this series I have picked images from the Old and New Testament, from the beginning, thru the middle and to the end to hopefully convey a very small
part of God’s story, His Ancient Words.
